Trial Edition

To ease evaluation process, XonaSoftware is proud to offer a 15 day trial edition of Situate™. The trial edition allows you or your organization to use Situate as you will use it in production. All features are enabled!

If after your evaluation you want to purchase Situate™, simply install a new license. You don't need to re-install.

Prerequisits

Situate was designed to use very few resources. Even the server needs very little in the way of system resources, so you do not need a very large machine to perform an evaluation. A minimum of one computer running any Linux disto is required to install the Situate trial version. To perform a more thorough evaluation we recommend a second computer. Note: Production versions of Situate run on most every platform including: Linux, Windows, Solaris and OS-X.

Here are some minimal hardware requirements:

• Intel- or AMD-based computer with at least a 1GHZ, 2 core processor.
• At least 2G of physical RAM.
• Linux 2.6 (or greater) kernel.
• 64-bit installation (32-bit versions are also available. Please contact if you need a 32-bit package.)
• At least 4G of free disk space.
• A virtual machine is perfectly acceptable.

The installer will contain an evaluation license that will allow you to run situate on up to four computers for 15 days. The product you are about to download is full featured. Step 2: Install the Server

In just a moment, you'll receive an e-mail with a link you can use to download the server package. Download it onto your server. Then, as root, make sure the package is executable; then run it.

The installer will guide you through the installation process. Some prompts may differ depending your particular Linux distribution.

Step 3: Install the GUI.

You'll need to go to the download page and find the appropriate install package for your operating system. On the download page, the top section will contain the latest software grouped by operating system. The viewer package in always the first package in each group.

Mac OSX

The Mac OSX viewer is distributed as a .DMG package. Simply download it, click on it, and follow the instructions.

Linux

The Linux viewer is distributed as a SHAR package. Download it. Make sure it's executable. Then, run it.

Windows

The viewer for Windows is distributed as a .EXE installer. Download and/or run it and follow the instructions.

Step 4: Create Your First Workflow

We have created a number of "how to" videos that will teach you almost everything you need to know about Situate. The first of these is only five minutes long and will guide you through creating, submitting, approving, and executing your first workflow. After that, there are a number of other videos that show you how to create more and more sophisticated workflows and teach you about all the features of the product.
